Our Science Vision:

At West Town Primary Academy, we understand the importance of science primary education and the impact it has on the rest of children’s lives. We aim to inspire children to develop their science capital, through providing relatable role models, hands-on experiences and exciting opportunities.

We ensure that we provide a broad and balanced curriculum to support children with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. Our teaching works to build on children’s long term learning through a range of engaging, inspiring activities. Our science learning is carefully planned to meet the needs of all children, whilst ensuring progression through individual lessons, topics and year groups.

Science across the school:

Through our science charter (developed by staff and students at the school) we have established criteria which believe demonstrates when science works best in our school.

Science Charter:

Science learning takes place inside and outside of the classroom at West Town Primary Academy. Scroll down to find out how you can enjoy science at home and to see how we encompass science learning into our school days.
