Free School Meals
There are two types of free school meals:
1) Income Based Free School Meals where families may be eligible for a free school meal based on their income.
Registering for Free School Meals can provide significant benefits for children and families, including help with school meal costs and access to additional support over the summer with childcare and food provision via the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme where eligible. The value is estimated at a minimum of £495 per year per child, for households.
Schools also receive additional funding through the Pupil Premium to support pupils' learning and well being. Even if your child does not currently take a school meal, it is still important to check whether they are entitled and complete the application process if eligible.

At West Town Primary Academy we take full advantage of the Governments UIFSM scheme and all children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 have a free school meal.
