Meridian is an inclusive and equitable trust, existing to provide, support and champion high-quality education at the heart of our local communities.
As a member of Meridian Trust, West Town Primary Academy aims to unite our pupils, families and other local stakeholders within our community. We are dedicated to being an inclusive school, where every child is known, equally valued and supported to achieve their potential.
Within our diverse community we celebrate and learn from each other with an understanding that each child and young person is a unique individual with their own strengths “superpowers,” and differences.
Children identified with Special Educational Needs will require support that is additional to or different from the support generally given to pupils of the same age through quality first teaching. This support may be required for a short period of time or longer-term dependent on the individual.
We provide a graduated response to children’s needs, which begins with quality first teaching. This approach ensures that reasonable adjustments and adaptions are part of a fluid approach to SEND, with early identification and support overseen by Inclusion Team. Every child is given an appropriate level of support and at the same time, encouraged to become independent learners.
