We have fantastic school meals, cooked fresh on site from fresh ingredients. Good food provision such as ours has been shown to lead to not only healthier children but also to improved attainment. At West Town we believe that a nutritious healthy balanced meal is important to children’s development and ability to get the most out of their school day. We hope that learning to taste and eat a range of healthy balanced foods will help create a generation of children who enjoy food that makes them healthier, more successful and, most importantly, happier.
All of our Key Stage One children enjoy a free school meal as provided by the government and a majority of our key stage two children choose to have school meals. Our menu is seasonal and runs on a three week cycle, it changes regularly and we also have special theme days. There is a sample menu at the bottom of the page. To book school meals please contact Michelle Bark in the office. Meals need booking and paying for at least a week in advance.
Free school meals can also be applied for. If you think you may be eligible please ask for a form in the office. Please make sure you claim for free school meals if you believe you may be eligible, even if you do not wish your child to receive the meal or they are already receiving a universal infant free school meal, as this will provide additional funding to the school for your child.
In addition to our midday meals we offer a healthy tuck shop run by the children; fruit for key stage one at break time; a breakfast club and a snack and drink for older children attending our extended day.
