Date(s) - 13th September
9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Stibbington Centre

We are delighted that the Year 6 children will be spending the day, on Wednesday 13th September 2017, as World War 2 evacuated children.  This Educational Visit will help the children to engage with the topic for the Term and will support them with their understanding of what life was like as a World War 2 child.

On the 13th September, the children will need to come to school dressed as a World War 2 child. We will be walking for most of the morning, so please ensure your child is wearing sensible shoes, or wellingtons, which are suitable for walking across fields.

We will then take a coach to a local education centre where we will spend the day as if we had been evacuated from London to a Peterborough village.  We’ll experience what it would have been like for the children of the time, how they might have felt, what they might have done and what they would have had to eat.  In addition to this we will spend some time in a World War 2 classroom, taking part in learning activities that children of the time would have done.

Lunch will be provided and is included in the cost of the trip, so please do not pay for a school lunch for the day of the trip.

All children are expected to attend as they will complete follow up work in the classroom as a result of the Educational Visit.

Should you have any further questions, please discuss these with your child’s class teacher.
