Date(s) - 17th April
All Day

Peterborough Museum

After Easter, Year 3 will be starting a new topic about The Tudors. In order to start our topic effectively, we have organised a trip to Peterborough Museum on Tuesday 17th April, to spend the day looking at Tudor artefacts and learning more about life in Tudor times.

The visit will take place during normal school hours and will help to engage the children in their understanding of the new topic theme.  The children will be able to experience the vaults at the museum, examine a Tudor portrait, meet a Tudor surgeon and learn about Tudor medicine. We will also enjoy a guided city tour, looking at evidence of The Tudors in Peterborough city centre.

As part of the day involves a city tour, please ensure your child is wearing their school uniform smartly, is wearing appropriate footwear and brings a rain coat in case it rains.   Please also ensure your child brings a packed lunch for the day (unless your family is in receipt of Free School Meals Funding) as we will be eating our lunch at the museum.

The cost of this trip is £6 per child, and we are asking for a voluntary contribution of this amount.  Please ensure your contribution is returned to school on the children’s first day back at school with the completed and returned permission slip below.  If we do not receive sufficient contributions, the trip may be cancelled.

We hope that you agree that this trip will really help to bring our topic to life for the children!

Thank you for your support and we hope your child is as excited about this visit as we are.
