To help us develop excellence in our science teaching throughout the school we are undergoing the application for the primary science quality mark this year.
We aim to encourage the children to develop their scientific thinking through hands on exploration and experimentation alongside a deeper knowledge and understanding of the natural and man-made worlds through communication, application, investigation and observation.
Science skills are taught and applied alongside technological ones allowing a greater amount of logical child led curriculum activities and problem solving to be addressed.
Where relevant, these are linked with the term’s theme to give real relevance to the children’s learning. This cohesive approach leads the children to enjoy new scientific discoveries, inspiring them and equipping them with the skills to shape how we live in our rapidly changing society.
